The Washington Post has started a blog focusing on civil liberties and the criminal justice system. Details at the link.

Blogger Radley Balko has been sounding off about related issues for a decade. I rooted for him but felt that social inertia and institutional self-interest made his efforts quixotic. I’m not sure I was wrong, but it would be a pleasure to be so and it’s looking less unlikely.

It’s not nice when you run into a bad cop. Two or three at the same time is dangerous. The stories I could tell.

There is no need for a lawsuit. If there were any justice, the cops would be arrested and beaten to the same degree as the victim. After that, they would be fired and ineligible to hold any public office anywhere (including sewer worker), as well as barred from firearms possession and just about anything else.

LOL. What a world that would be, if it really existed.

Instead, one of these rageaholic children will probably get a medal and a blowjob in the public square.

I don’t think an “eye-for-an-eye” would be helpful, but I do understand the emotion that yearns for it.

So, this happened in ‘09. Why is the video only now making the rounds in ‘14, or has it been around but getting no attention?
